Welcome to the Mesopotamia Elementary School Counseling Website
Mrs. Brittany Muccio School Counselor
Comprehensive School Counseling Program
The comprehensive school counseling program at Mesopotamia Elementary serves all students and works with parents, teachers, and the community to promote academic success for every student. The overall goal of the program is to enable students to succeed and become contributing members of society.
The counseling relationship allows children to explore feelings and interests and provides an opportunity to explore specific issues or concerns. I strive to help children develop a better understanding of themselves and others.
Classroom Guidance
Classroom guidance will begin in September. The lessons each month are designed around a specific theme. The themes focus on academic, personal, social, and intro-to-career related topics. For information on monthly themes, please visit the Classroom Guidance tab.
Small Counseling Groups
Small counseling groups will begin the fall. I will offer groups on a variety of topics including social skills, friendship, study skills and anger. These groups are formed on the needs of the students. Any staff or parent can refer a student they feel could benefit from small group counseling.
Specific groups will be offered throughout the year. Click on the link: Small Group Counseling
Individual Counseling
Individual counseling in the elementary school is short-term, meaning a student would be seen no more than 8 times depending on the need and circumstances. Individual counseling can begin at anytime during the year. Any staff or parent can refer a student they feel could benefit from individual counseling.
Parents are invited to contact me at 440-693-4125 Tuesdays and Thursdays, with questions about counseling and counseling services available. I am able to be reached at 440-685-4735 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I am also able to be reached by email at [email protected]
